Join us for an intimate evening of cooking and conversation, hosted by Ed Balls. All proceeds will support our work tackling food poverty and education. Only 50 places available.
With a career spanning the House of Commons, Strictly and Celebrity Best Home Cook, Ed Balls has stories to tell and recipes to share. So please join him in the Cook for Good Kitchen for an intimate evening of food, cooking and conversation.
Ed will demo his signature cheese souffle, and share a supper he’s cooked with a brigade of community volunteers. He’ll be chatting between courses about politics, food, dancing and everything in between, and will happily answer any questions guests may have.
The menu will be designed around Ed’s favourites from his recent book, Appetite, and all guests will receive a signed copy to take home.
All proceeds from the event will go towards our community programme, which includes cooking classes, community meals and access to low-cost, healthy food, for residents of the Priory Green Estate in Kings Cross.
About Ed Balls
Originally best known for his political career, which included serving as Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, Ed showed a different side of his personality when he appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Best Home Cook. He is also known for his epic twitter gaffe on #edballsday, which he celebrated more recently in cake form.
About Cook for Good
Cook for Good is a social enterprise which aims to build connections and communities through food. We have built a community kitchen on the Priory Green Estate in Kings Cross from which we’re working with local residents to tackle food poverty and social isolation, and boost cooking skills.
Our programme includes free and low-cost cooking lessons, community meals, and a surplus food pantry, largely funded by cooking-based corporate teambuilding events.
