Aims and ambitions

“There’s a reason why the kitchen is the heart of a home. Cooking is a way to show that you care, and to connect with the people around you. Cook for Good does this on a large scale, bringing businesses and communities together through cooking to change the lives of everyone involved.”

Cook for Good is a not-for-profit organisation with a clear mission: to build confidence, connections and communities through food.

We believe cooking has the power to bring people together and change lives, and that connecting businesses and communities through food can be transformational for both.

So we have created a model which uses cooking to build links within and beyond communities, allowing everyone involved to feel good about what they have made, and made happen.

Community Kitchen

Our new community kitchen in Kings Cross, part-funded by our corporate teambuilding events, brings this model to life.

It is a hub for local residents, offering a programme of low and no-cost cooking courses and community meals, employability and enterprise projects, and a surplus food pantry. And it’s delivering tangible social impact; here’s a review of what we achieved in 2022-23.

And that’s just the start. We’re looking to share what we’ve learned with other community groups and replicate the Cook for Good model around the country.

Our plans for 2023-24

We’ve set ourselves some hefty targets for this year.
Here’s what we’re hoping to achieve.
