DEEPER IMPACT

Get more involved by going deeper with us

Our conversations with current and potential clients suggest that team building is no longer seen as just for fun. Employers are increasingly keen to choose purpose-driven activities that provide genuinely fulfilling ways to connect. And their employees really value being part of a volunteering experience which goes deeper than a one-off.

So while our clients often start off with a single event, many get so much out of it that they decide to get more deeply involved. And if that sounds tempting, we can cook up a plan that works for you.

We are delighted to be able to partner with Cook for Good on this incredible initiative, helping to fight food and health poverty and social isolation in Central London.

Here are some of the ways you could work more closely with us:

  • Book multiple events, and involve clients and suppliers as well as different internal teams. We offer a range of team building activities and can host you here, or come to you.
  • Incorporate us into your strategy day or L&D programme. We can host a full strategy day in our spaces, with a team building session built in.
  • Use us to help you onboard or develop specific cohorts. We’ve welcomed everyone from apprentices and graduates to project teams and SLTs.
  • Get involved in specific projects, such as funding a community programme or supporting a pilot initiative.
  • Invite us to speak at all-staff events, or co-host a panel at a national conference, to share the story of what we’re achieving together

And if you book four or more events across a year, we’ll create an annual mini impact report for you, so you can see (and share) exactly how much you’re helping.

Helping you meet UN Sustainable Development Goals

Working more closely with Cook for Good can also take you more than half-way towards meeting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, from tackling poverty to creating opportunities for decent work. Here’s how.

We’re helping to tackle the root causes of food insecurity and poverty for people in low-income households, by providing access to affordable food, and a range of advice including cooking on a budget, accessing employment and debt management.

We’re also working to tackle the impact of food insecurity and the cost of living crisis through our Community Pantry, where members can pick up a basket of food worth around £35 for just £3.50 a week

We’re providing free cooking classes and courses for residents aged 5 to 85, teaching them to cook healthy, budget-friendly meals from scratch. And we support mental wellbeing by creating opportunities for people to connect with each other.

Our Community Brigade programme is providing local residents with skills and experience to help them access jobs in catering and hospitality, including at our team building events.

We’ve built a Community Kitchen, developed a Community Pantry, and created an innovative social trading model that brings businesses and communities together, for the benefit of both.

One in four of our community say they are in a desperate financial situation; by addressing food insecurity and barriers to work, we’re helping people from a diverse range of backgrounds tackle health and financial inequalities.

Our Community Pantry and Community Kitchen were disused spaces which we have brought back into community use. They are safe, inclusive places where people of all ages can come together, eat together and learn together.

In 2024-25 we redistributed 13 tonnes of surplus food through our Pantry. We also teach residents how to make meals from ingredients that might otherwise have been wasted.
