TEAM BUILDING
Team building ideas that do good (and taste good)
If you’ve never shared a spatula with a colleague, or chopped chicken with a client, now’s the time to give it a try. Because there’s nothing like the pressure of cooking massive amounts of food to a tight deadline to bring people together.
Some companies use our events to get a team working better together, or get people off Zoom and into the same space. Others bring a bunch of clients for a day they won’t forget. Shouting ‘Yes, Chef!’ is optional, but it adds to the fun – and there are prizes for chopping skills, team-player energy and more.
And because the profits go back to our community, the feelgood effect lasts long after the washing up is done. Here are some team building ideas to consider.

I’ve never seen the team so engaged.

Our team building cooking experiences
Here’s a snapshot of our different team experiences. We can also create a bespoke package of multiple events or, if you’d like to go deeper, explore options for partnership with you.

Cook & Share
Roll up your sleeves, crank up the tunes, and get cooking for our community
We’ll set you to work prepping and cooking up to 100 meals for local residents and partner charities. You’ll think there’s no way it can all be done in time, but with the help of our chefs and some brilliant teamwork, you’ll pull it off. And when you come together to eat what you’ve cooked, it’ll taste like the best food you’ve ever had.

Restaurant Takeover
Turn your team into a catering crew for one unforgettable day
Take a break from business as usual and step into some new roles. With a hard deadline of 60 residents arriving to be fed, you’ll work as a team to cook and serve a 5-star dining experience, before sitting down to enjoy the meal yourselves. And along the way you’ll break down barriers, discover hidden strengths, and find new ways to work together.

Double Helpings
Bring up to 40 colleagues for two high-impact, back-to-back sessions
We’ll go all out for maximum impact by getting two of your teams cooking on the same day. They'll pull together to create up to 160 meals across both events, with time built in to taste their creations, and a banging playlist to help them keep up the pace. High energy, high impact, and a highlight for everyone.

Community Bites
Enjoy a global culinary adventure
Bring your colleagues or clients for a hands-on cooking experience, making and enjoying canapés inspired by our community. Led by our chefs, you’ll explore some bold flavours, learn some chef-level new skills, and connect over delicious bites. You’ll also create meals for us to share with our residents, making a difference that goes far beyond the kitchen.

Family Meal Boxes
Enjoy some healthy competition as you prep some healthy meals
We’ll get you together at our place or yours, split you into sub teams and get you peeling, chopping, slicing and dicing the ingredients for nutritious family meals. Then you’ll pack them up, ready to share with members of our community. Which sub team will fill the most boxes? And who will win one of our coveted prizes? The pressure is on.

Soup & Bakes Lunch
Treat your staff to a delicious lunch, cooked by our Community Brigade
An excellent way to support our Brigade’s training and work experience, while giving your staff a break from boring sarnies and cardboard box salads, and an excuse to come together at lunchtime. We’ll come to your office with two delicious soups, freshly made bread and a stack of brownies or bakes, which not only taste good but have the feelgood factor too.
What happens at a team building event?
We recently hosted a team from Genuine Dining, one of our culinary partners, who made a film of their Cook & Serve experience. Here’s what they got up to.
